Cannabis-infused everything is already on every pot lover’s radar, but CBD (one of the cool chemicals in weed that doesn’t actually get you high) is the next big thing for in 2017. It’s going to be everywhere, especially in the now weed-friendly (ish!) mainstream world.

Well + Good announced its coveted wellness trend forecast for 2017. Alongside hyperfunctional beverages and inflammation-fighting foods, the health and happiness platform predicts that all things infused with CBD will take over. That means your mom might just get into the magic of cannabis too.

CBD, or the fancy name is cannabidiol, is a non-psychoactive extract from cannabis that won’t actually get you high, at least not the way D.A.R.E. says. In fact, it has a ton of benefits. It can make you super chill, calm, happy, and it can even relieve some of the worst anxiety. A lot of wellness product makers are infusing it in just about anything. If you want to live in a subtle state of chilled-out happiness, you might want to incorporate CBD into your everyday life.

“A growing body of scientific research shows CBD has the power to reduce anxiety and stress, lower inflammation, relax the body and mind, and subtly lift the mood,” Whitney Tingle of Sakara CBD-oil chocolates told Well + Good.

In legal weed states, CBD is also legal. It’s only a matter of time before the magic of CBD might just be in everyday things like food, creams, wine, oils, etc. That’s because there’s no shortage of weed-infused product makers, and they are getting pretty creative with CBD potions and products.

From Well + Good:

CBD is also showing up in skin-care brands, like CBD For Life and Lord Jones, which make anti-inflammatory creams. Aceso’s cannabinoid drink powders and sprays help reduce anxiety, while Foria Relief’s suppositories soothe menstrual cramps. And as states continue to legalize marijuana, you’ll see it moving into cooking, winemaking, and even fitness. “Look for cannabis use to become part of people’s wellness routines,” says Lord Jones’ co-founder Cindy Capobianco, who predicts “cannabis workouts.” (LA’s Goda Yoga already offers a 420 class for medical marijuana card holders.)
Legal cannabis has changed the game, and now we’re saying goodbye to “stoner” culture, and welcoming high-end, cannabis-specific products that can increase the effectiveness of any wellness routine.
